Bridge House Christmas Meal to be held at the Lazy Dog
Please take a moment to imagine what your personal Holiday season will be like. What are your family’s traditions? Will your family light a candle on a Hanukkah menorah and share a small gift? Maybe you’ll decorate a Christmas tree with friends and share little Holiday spirit? Perhaps you have small children or grandchildren who will hang their stocking on the fireplace in anticipation of Santa?
Now, please try to imagine what it would be like to spend the Holidays on the streets of Boulder, braving the elements, sometimes alone, vulnerable and hungry. My guess is that most of us cannot even imagine.
Yet, the reality is that there are an estimated 300+ homeless individuals living on the streets in Boulder. On Christmas day when many providers and businesses are closed, Bridge House will be open and ready to serve a warm and festive Holiday meal to our homeless neighbors. Our dedicated staff and volunteers will share a smile, a warm place to be, and a supportive community.
This year we will hold our annual Christmas Day meal at the Lazy Dog on the Pearl Street Mall. The Lazy Dog generously donated their restaurant in order for us to better serve our guest on Christmas day.
This year we have a great opportunity for local companies to sponsor our Christmas Meal. By sponsoring Bridge House’s Holiday meal, the company will engage in corporate social responsibility which most agree will help a company generate favorable stakeholder attitudes and support behaviors like investing, purchasing products or services, and attracting and retaining talented individuals.
